HEATHER ALLEN

Background

Heather's professional path in Massage Therapy began with her graduation from the Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy in 1992. Over the following two decades, her career took her to various locations, culminating in her registration with CMTBC as a Massage Therapist in 2011. Since then, Heather has been a dedicated practitioner in Kamloops for 13 years, contributing significantly to the wellness community there.

 

Treatment Style

At the heart of Heather's treatment philosophy lies a commitment to creating a safe and skillful care environment. Her approach integrates active listening and empathetic touch with practical remedial advice, supporting and nurturing her clients' wellness. Heather's personal practices in meditation, Tai Chi, and Yoga reflect and enhance her professional methodology.

 

In her practice, Heather addresses the physical impacts of stress and pain, whether they stem from acute injuries, chronic conditions, or mental and emotional stressors. Her goal is to align her therapeutic techniques with her clients' objectives and values, applying her skills in a manner that is both evidence-based and directly relevant to their needs.

 

Personal

An avid learner, Heather is currently enriching her expertise by pursuing a Health Science Degree in her leisure time. Her love for the outdoors manifests in a passion for running and hiking. She eagerly anticipates exploring the diverse landscapes and opportunities that Victoria has to offer.

KRISTEN BRADLEY

RMT

Background

Kristen graduated from the Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy in 2013 and embarked on her journey as a Registered Massage Therapist shortly after relocating to Vancouver Island the following year. With 16 years of experience as a competitive swimmer representing Canada on the global stage, Kristen's passion for sport performance, body awareness, and movement naturally led her to pursue a career in Massage Therapy.

 

Treatment Style

Her philosophy revolves around empowering individuals to deepen their understanding of their bodies, fostering a sense of safety and joy in the body they live in. Beyond the clinic, Kristen's pursuit of knowledge extends into the realms of dance and yoga, where she continues to explore body movement and holistic wellness practices.

 

In her Massage Therapy practice, Kristen demonstrates an interest in understanding and crafting unique treatment plans tailored to each client's specific needs. She values building genuine connections with her clients, supporting them on their journey toward improved everyday function and overall well-being.

 

Personal

Outside of her professional endeavors, Kristen finds joy in traveling and cherishing moments with her husband and family. Their lives are enriched by their beloved orange tabby, "Mango," who accompanies them on walks amidst the natural beauty of Mount PKOLS, East Sooke Park and Elk Lake.

JOHN MCPHEE

Background

John's journey as a Registered Massage Therapist began with his graduation from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2008. His career, spanning over a decade in downtown Victoria, transitioned to Stromma Massage Therapy in its inaugural year, 2019. Prior to his current profession, John's experience in the construction industry was marked by a back injury that became a pivotal point in his life. The recovery process introduced him to the transformative power of massage therapy, igniting a desire to extend similar healing to others. This fueled his 16 years of unwavering dedication and passion in the field of massage therapy.

 

Treatment Style

John's treatment philosophy centers around recognizing and adapting to each individual's unique stage in their wellness journey. He employs a holistic approach, skillfully blending rhythmic movements to soothe the nervous system with targeted techniques designed to enhance mobility and facilitate recovery. 

 

Integral to John's practice is the incorporation of patient education, self-care strategies, and remedial exercises, all aimed at augmenting the healing process and preventing future injuries. He not only advocates these principles but also actively practices them in his own life, enjoying running and regular workouts at a local gym.

 

Personal

Away from his professional role, John is a devoted father to two dynamic daughters, passionately involved in their array of sports activities, from hockey and soccer to volleyball. His ideal weekends are spent creating memories with them, whether it's camping in Tofino, relaxing at a cottage on Sproat Lake, or embarking on new adventures across Vancouver Island.

COLLEEN JOHNSON

Background  

Colleen graduated from Trillium College in Kingston in 2018 and immediately relocated to Victoria, where she established Stromma Massage Therapy and commenced her practice in March 2019. Her journey into Massage Therapy stemmed from her personal experiences, having witnessed firsthand the transformative benefits it had on her own health and wellness.

 

Treatment Style

At the heart of Colleen's practice lies the creation of a safe haven for individuals to embark on their unique wellness journeys. She considers it a privilege to contribute positively to the physical and mental well-being of each client.

 

Colleen brings a harmonious blend of expertise and empathy to the treatment room. With a background in engineering, she possesses a deep understanding of the human body and its intricate systems. However, she places equal emphasis on valuing each individual's perspective and their personal experience of well-being. Colleen meets her clients exactly where they are on their path to wellness.

Personal

Beyond her professional pursuits, Colleen is an avid traveler, hiker, and fitness enthusiast. She finds joy in exploring the natural wonders of Vancouver Island and the captivating landscapes of the West Coast. Colleen feels immensely grateful to have discovered a vibrant community of friends in this breathtaking part of the world.
