Health & Safety Guidelines

Reviewed: March 2026

The health and well-being of our clients and staff is a priority at Stromma Massage Therapy. Our clinic follows current guidance from BC Public Health, the BC Centre for Disease Control, WorkSafeBC, and the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC. BC guidance currently emphasizes communicable disease prevention, hand hygiene, staying home when sick, and the use of appropriate infection prevention and control measures in health-care settings. (Government of British Columbia)

Our Approach

We maintain a clean, professional treatment environment through routine cleaning and disinfection of high-touch surfaces, hand hygiene between appointments, and the use of clean linens and professional equipment for each client. These practices are consistent with current infection prevention and control guidance for community-based health-care settings and with the practice expectations for registered massage therapists in B.C. (BC Centre for Disease Control)

We ask clients and therapists to avoid attending appointments when unwell. Current BC guidance recommends staying home when sick, cleaning hands often, and following respiratory etiquette to help reduce the spread of illness. (Government of British Columbia)

During Your Visit

Hand sanitizer and handwashing facilities are available in the clinic. Email receipts are available for convenience. Mask use is optional. If you would prefer your therapist to wear a mask during your appointment, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your request. BC guidance states that masks are not generally required in public indoor settings and that health-care workers should use appropriate personal protective equipment based on risk assessment and setting-specific needs. (Government of British Columbia)

Arrival at the Clinic

Please arrive at your scheduled appointment time. If you are experiencing symptoms of illness, please contact us to reschedule. This helps us maintain a safe and comfortable environment for everyone in the clinic. (Government of British Columbia)

Ongoing Review

We will continue to review and update our practices as needed to reflect current public health guidance, WorkSafeBC requirements, and regulatory standards for massage therapy practice in British Columbia. (WorkSafeBC)
